At first boot, the device derives a unique identifier from at least two hardware entropy sources. This identifier binds the device to a manufacturer-controlled registry before any network access is permitted.

Patent 13 (OEM First Boot): Device derives identifier from ≥2 hardware entropy sources at first boot. Pre-registration in manufacturer registry before shipment. Fail-closed — no network access until binding complete. OCC-encoded binding certificate (cross-license trigger).
Patent 15 (ReadOnly Lockdown): OS-level write protection for legacy device classes (OLD_LAPTOP, OLD_DESKTOP, USB_HARD_DRIVE). Unlock procedure requires hardware token. Audit log of all write attempts. Cross-reference to Safe Mode Write Protection (P05).
